On Sunday evening we picked Rachel up from the airport. It was so wonderful to see/touch/feel her! :-) Only Karen and the girls were allowed to go to the gate
(one adult per family), so poor Steve had to wait at baggage claim until we could come there.
This year has been an amazing year, for Romane and Rachel ... and for the families as well. It was so difficult to be away from the girls, but such a joy to see
them mature and become stronger, while becoming bilingual.
Romane has become another daughter in our family, and we know that Rachel has gained another family, too.
Thank you to the Lagouche family for taking such good care of Rachel ! And, of course, thank you to Jacques for En Famille!

It's diffcult to explain how we feel.... a strange mix of happyness (because she goes back home with her familly), and sadness (because this is the end of the
exchange, and we will really miss her)... It's so hard to say her good bye !
Tonight after dinner, Romane called her mom (Karen), she really needed to talk with her. She feels so lonely.
Some friends told us, we will be very happy to be all 5 alone, just the familly after one year of exchange.
But no, really NO !
As we don't have other child in exchange in same time (compare with the Roddy familly who had a cross exchange with Rachel and Hannah), we didn't miss anybody when
Rachel was at home. During 6 months, she was not as a guest, she was really like one of our child. So tonight we don't feel happy to recover 5 at home, somebody is missing and home looks empty
!
